Hey Tony!
Is it possible to know how many "characters" there are in my database ?
Is it possible to find out the number of "words" of all conversation?
I am calculating the price that it could have, to translate my video game into other languages.
On the Dialogue Editor's Database tab, use the Localization Export/Import foldout to export a spreadsheet containing your game's text. Then you can load it into a word processing app and count characters and words.
You can also use the same Localization Export/Import foldout to export spreadsheets for translators and then reimport their work back into the Dialogue System.
I just exported this XML file from my database, but I see that it contains all the fields.
How can you only count the lines of dialogue?
Is this the type of file that I should send to a translator or does it have to be converted to another type of file?
I have seen that I can remove fields from the export, but the names of the actors continue to appear.
Is there an option to export only the dialog lines without the actor's name?
The Export Database foldout is different from the Localization Export/Import foldout.
The settings in Export Database will have no effect on the files that Localization Export/Import produces.
To remove the names of actors, open the file in a spreadsheet app such as Excel, Google Sheets, or Libre Office. Then just delete all columns except Original Text and Original Menu.
