Fast forward and response menu

Post by lostmushroom »

Hi Tony.

I'm trying to set up my continue button and response menu in a particular way, but I'm not sure how to go about it. The functionality I'm aiming for is:
- If the player lets the subtitle typewriter play to the end, then the response menu should show up as soon as it's finished.
- If they click to fast forward the subtitle, the response menu should show up without requiring them to click again.

I've got the continue button set to Always and using Standard UI Continue Button Fast Forward to allow the player to skip to the end of the subtitle. This has always worked fine for me, but I noticed that it feels clunky on mobile to have to click twice to get the buttons to show up.

Thanks!

Hi,

Set the Dialogue Manager's Continue Button dropdown to Optional. This works like Always except it doesn't wait for the player to click the continue button to advance. As soon as the dialogue entry's Sequence ends, it advances the conversation (e.g., to the response menu). There are other dropdown options, too. This table explains what they do.
